AIM
The overall aim of the Summit is to contribute to the CAPACITY BUILDING of national and global GREEN ECONOMY, SUSTAINABLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION AND RESOURCE EFFICIENCY.
OBJECTIVE
To present and create focused dialogues and programmes directed at BUILDING RESILIENT ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC INFRASTRUCTURES.

GLOBAL SOUTH SUMMIT PROPOSAL
GSFN and Community Development and Sustainability Organisation (CDS) are embarking on an exciting journey of building capacity and empowering KENYA through our GSFN – CDS GLOBAL SOUTH SUMMIT on 18-19-20 MARCH 2024. It would focus on national issues, including women’s development and empowerment and transforming environmental and agricultural systems for resilient and sustainable development at local, regional, national, and international levels. The Summit will invest in local capacity development projects, including networking, collaborations and year-long programs, stimulating innovation and technological advancement in Kenya, encouraging more women to pursue STEM careers, preventing early-age marriage and teenage pregnancy, and creating decent facilities under the WASH program.
The Summit’s activities will extend to community development efforts, spreading education programs for underprivileged areas, uplifting marginalised communities, reducing poverty and improving overall social welfare.
The project will run from March 2024 to March 2025. It will involve collaborative projects between various stakeholders, including universities and established organisations, taking the lead in advocacy, awareness, training workshops and a skills enhancement program among interested stakeholders.
Discussion, debates, and networking with international experts will be integral to the Summit. We are calling Keynote Speakers, Speakers, Mentors, Students, Young researchers, Union representatives, University representatives from KENYA and outside KENYA, Sector representatives, STEM, YOUTH, WOMEN representatives, Research-performing organisation representatives, Research funding body representatives, Public body representatives, and relevant stakeholders to participate in interviews, round table discussions, seminars, providing feedback, one-to-one meeting, or attend.
Dr Renuka Thakore from Global Sustainable Futures Network CIC, United Kingdom, and Peter Chem Executive Director International and Monica Dongre Pagare, Program Director from CDS Kenya, invite LEADERS, GLOBAL PROFESSIONALS, YOUNG WOMEN, STUDENTS, EARLY CAREERS, ORGANISATIONS & INSTITUTIONS – everyone to participate in the CDS-GSFN KENYA GLOBAL SOUTH SUMMIT to share knowledge and experiences. This exchange of ideas will contribute to more effective solutions to global challenges and create opportunities for international partnerships.

KENYA HOST PARTNER LEAD
Monica Dongre, Program Director at CDS International Kenya, will lead the Summit as the Host partner from Kenya. She has 10+ years of experience in marketing/ human resources and project management. She completed her marketing IT and Human Resource Management education from one of the leading institutions in India—XLRI, Jamshedpur. She has been in Kenya for the last eight years.

Prof. Mwangi Peter Wanderi (PhD), Principal Corporate Services & Communication/ Director Linkages, Partnerships and Collaborations, Overseer, Mount Kenya University Foundation and MKU Graduate Enterprise Academy, Overseer, United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities Hub brings unconditional support and valuable contribution to the Summit, encouraging several institutions to support the Summit objectives.
Kennedy M. Muli holds the office of the CEO & Founder of the Mully Children’s Family and heads the Health management team and the Community health team.
Patrick Oyenga is a Kenyan-born youth. Mr Oyenga is a resident of Thika town – Central Kenya, with an educational background in BA (Mathematics and Economics) and MSc Research Methodology. He has professional experience in academic administration, project management, Monitoring & Evaluation, Quality assurance, and peer education.
He is the Director and Founder of Communis Research and Community Resource Initiative (CMR&CRI).
