We are embarking on an exciting women’s development and empowerment project in EGYPT. The EmpowerHER project will address the gender gap and help Egypt tap into a larger talent pool essential for economic growth. The project will invest in women’s education and the development of a highly skilled workforce in STEM. The project will stimulate innovation and technological advancement in Egypt by encouraging more women to pursue STEM careers. The project’s activities will extend to community development efforts, such as STEM education programs for underprivileged areas. It can uplift marginalised communities, reducing poverty and improving overall social welfare.
The project will run from Jan 2024 to Jan 2025. It will involve training workshops and a skills enhancement program among women graduates in STEM, assisted by experts and mentors. The virtual training workshops will cover technical skills (coding, data analysis) and soft skills (communication, leadership). Discussion, debates, and networking with international experts will be integral to the project. We are calling Keynote Speakers, Speakers, Mentors, Students, Young researchers, Union representatives, University representatives from Egypt and outside Egypt, Sector representatives, STEM representatives, Research-performing organisation representatives, Research funding body representatives, Public body representatives, and relevant stakeholders to participate in interviews, round table discussions, seminars, providing feedback, one-to-one meeting, or attend.
British Council on Global Partnerships grant winners Dr Renuka Thakore from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), Preston, United Kingdom, and Prof Yasser Gaber Dessouky from Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Egypt, invite WOMEN LEADERS, GLOBAL PROFESSIONALS, YOUNG WOMEN, STUDENTS, EARLY CAREERS, ORGANISATIONS & INSTITUTIONS – everyone to participate in the EmpowerHER project to share knowledge and experiences. This exchange of ideas will contribute to more effective solutions to global challenges and create opportunities for international partnerships.
The project will run for 1 year. Please feel free to register your interest. We are excited to meet you:
